A Letter To Those Who've Lost A Parent

A Letter To Those Who've Lost A Parent

I know that no amount of words could ever erase the heartache of missing them. The loss you carry isn’t just in the living without them. It’s in the hole left in your heart that doesn’t ever fill, no matter how much time passes.

There will be days when it seems impossible to breathe without them, when their absence is louder than anything else in your entire world. You find yourself searching for pieces of them in all that you do, hoping to feel close to them once again.

And as the world moves on, you feel so alone and stuck.. like you’re the only one who still feels the weight of what is gone.

But I hope know that you do not have to be okay all the time. It’s okay to have hard days, it's okay to feel angry or sad. It's okay to feel overwhelmed.. those feelings don’t define you. They are a part of this journey that no one can fully understand unless they’ve walked it themselves. You’re allowed to grieve for as long as you need, and you’re allowed to feel everything.

Remember that their love for you didn’t end when they left. A love like that never disappears, it stays with you for the rest of your life.. it is stitched into your heart and soul.

Take each day one step at a time. Honor them in the ways that feel right for you. Keep their spirit alive by living the life they would have wanted for you, filled with love, happiness, and the strength they always knew you had inside you.

You are so much stronger than you realize, and in time, you will find a way to live with the loss.. not because it doesn’t hurt anymore, but because you carry their love with you for the rest of your life.
